Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides hands-on emergency medicine experience, allowing students to develop skills in patient care, lab work, and triage in a high-paced environment. Externs are mentored by experienced veterinary nurses and can customize the length and location of their externship. Applicants must begin their externship within 6 months of applying and be rabies vaccinated, unless exempt under their school's policy. The program is exclusive to veterinary technology/nursing students, not veterinary or veterinary assistant students.
