Law Student Externship opportunity for Fall 2024 sponsored by the Federal Bar Association LGBTQ Law Section in collaboration with Lambda Legal. The position offers a stipend of $3,000 for a 10-week semester, with a commitment of minimum 15 hours per week. Responsibilities include legal research, drafting court documents, analyzing legislation, and participation in case team meetings. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, as well as a passion for LGBTQ rights and public interest law.

The length of the externship varies. Students who are entering their senior year of nursing school may apply. The internship is paid; housing is not included. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others. Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) U.S. Externships offer foreign medical students a hands-on clinical program that matches residency program requirements. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships are offered to students enrolled in a nursing program and pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Students interested in applying must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting.
