The program is held every summer at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. The program lasts 10 weeks during which students will be trained for a career as a Nurse Tech. Every year about 50 nursing students from around the country are accepted into the program which includes educational sessions from all areas of specialty.

The externship is unpaid. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths.
