Student nurse extern summer opportunities at the University of Missouri Health Care offer 12-week experiences for nursing students close to graduation, aiming to enhance clinical skills and prepare for professional roles. Participants may continue as advanced nurse techs with potential for Graduate Nurse positions upon successful completion. Compensation includes $19.09/hour plus shift differentials, with application requirements including instructor, peer, and employer references, along with unit preferences. Applicants must be within a year of graduation, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, and hold AHA BLS certification.

Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) U.S. Externships offer foreign medical students a hands-on clinical program that matches residency program requirements. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

Externs will profile startup companies, learn what VCs look for, and be a part of investing in the next generation of technology. HP Tech Ventures is seeking ambitious students to help research relevant pre-seed stage startups for deal sourcing and evaluation. Training external to the classroom is available through the unpaid externship program that allows students to work in various work environments. Students accepted into the externship program may choose to work for the federal government, on the Hill, in judicial chambers, or in local or national non-profit agencies. The externship is unpaid.
