Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technician/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses). The program focuses on honing skills such as obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and triaging cases in a fast-paced environment. Students can choose the length and location of their externship, and must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program with rabies vaccination unless exempted by their school's policy.
