Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing students seeking hands-on experience in emergency medicine. The program focuses on honing skills like obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and caring for hospitalized patients. Externs work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses) in a customer-centric environment with a focus on providing the best experience for both pets and employees. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided to meet school requirements, and rabies vaccinations are required unless exempt under school policy.
