Legal Externship in Virginia
The MITRE Legal Externship offers law students a chance to gain hands-on experience supporting the company's mission in solving complex legal challenges. With a focus on innovation and public interest, students will work closely with expert attorneys on various legal tasks, including research, drafting agreements, and analyzing corporate policies. This hybrid program requires a commitment of at least 15 hours per week for a minimum of 11 weeks, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of in-house counsel's role in a nonprofit and government contracting context. Basic qualifications include enrollment in an accredited JD program, academic excellence, and the ability to adapt and learn new areas of law relevant to MITRE's work.
