Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technician/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (Veterinary Nurses), focusing on tasks like obtaining patient vitals, processing lab samples, and triaging cases. The program emphasizes flexibility in externship length and location, with mentorship provided by experienced professionals. Candidates must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program and vaccinated for rabies, with externships starting within six months of application.
