Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for AVMA-accredited veterinary technology/nursing students, focusing on hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians, gaining skills in patient care, triaging, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in externship length and location, with mentorship provided, catering to students' educational requirements and interests. Rabies vaccination is required, unless the school's policy allows for handling unvaccinated animals.

Winter externships are offered during January and February. Externships can last from one day to one week.
