Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program, allowing vet tech/nursing students to gain hands-on experience in emergency medicine alongside credentialed veterinary technicians. The program focuses on honing emergency skills like obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and caring for hospitalized patients. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, vaccinated for rabies, and seeking externship hours within 6 months of application.

Winter externships are offered during January and February. Externships can last from one day to one week.
