Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technology/nursing students aimed at providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. The program focuses on honing skills such as obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and caring for hospitalized patients. Students have flexibility in choosing the length and location of their externship, with mentorship provided by credentialed veterinary technicians. Rabies vaccinations are required unless exempted by the school's policy, and applicants must be currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited program.
