Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for vet tech/nursing students. The program provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, focusing on skills like patient vitals, laboratory processing, and patient care. Students can choose the length and location of their externship, receiving mentorship from credentialed veterinary technicians. Requirements include enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, vaccination for rabies, and externship initiation within 6 months.
