Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program, providing hands-on emergency medicine experience for vet tech/nursing students. The program emphasizes a customer-first approach, aligning with VEG's mission of prioritizing both pet owners and employees' well-being. Students gain practical skills in emergency care, including patient triage, vital monitoring, and lab sample processing, under the mentorship of experienced veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses). Enrollment requirements include being enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology/nursing program and having rabies vaccination, with flexibility in externship duration and location choice.
