Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers a Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine for vet tech/nursing students. This unpaid opportunity emphasizes skill development in triage, patient care, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Externs choose their duration and location, with mentorship from credentialed veterinary technicians. Requirements include enrollment in an AVMA accredited program, rabies vaccination, and externship commencement within 6 months.
