Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship for veterinary technician/nurse students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (known as Veterinary Nurses). The program focuses on honing emergency skills such as patient vitals, lab sample processing, patient care, triage, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Students have flexibility in externship length and location, with mentorship provided, and must be enrolled in an AVMA-accredited program and vaccinated for rabies unless exempted by their school's policy.
