Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. Students gain hands-on emergency medicine experience, focusing on vital skills like patient care and triage, mentored by experienced Veterinary Nurses. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with a focus on creating a supportive and educational environment for students to grow and thrive in the emergency veterinary field.

Summer Student Nurse Tech Program is open to nursing students throughout the U.S. The paid work experience program takes place during the summer and gives nursing students an opportunity to gain skills that will be valuable to their nursing career.
