Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. The program focuses on honing emergency skills, such as obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and triaging cases. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship from experienced veterinary technicians. Rabies vaccination is required, unless exempted by the school's policy.
