Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA-accredited veterinary technology/nursing students, providing hands-on emergency medicine experience. Externs work alongside credentialed Veterinary Nurses, focusing on emergency skills like triaging cases, obtaining vitals, and caring for hospitalized patients. Flexibility in externship length and location is offered, with mentorship provided, aiming to cultivate a supportive and immersive learning environment. Rabies vaccination is required, and the program aims to provide students with invaluable real-world experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
