Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. Externships are a great way for law students at Georgetown University to experience working in law within the public sector. Training external to the classroom is available through the unpaid externship program that allows students to work in various work environments. Students accepted into the externship program may choose to work for the federal government, on the Hill, in judicial chambers, or in local or national non-profit agencies. Students must have completed one year of coursework before applying. They must also complete the course requirements in order to be eligible to participate in the program.

Oregon Tax Court Externships

Oregon Tax Court Externships are offered to both law students and paralegal students who have completed at least one full year (law) or half (paralegal) of their schooling. Externships are available in the Spring, Summer and Fall for law students and throughout the year for paralegals. Law student externships are 13 weeks during which students will work in the courts on tax matters. Externs will work up to 40 hours per week. Eligible law students must be self-starters with excellent research and writing skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.

Winter externships are offered during January and February. Externships can last from one day to one week. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others. Following a six-month externship, consultants return to Bain with increased skills as a consultant and enhanced knowledge of other industries.
