Johns Hopkins Clinical Nurse Externships

Johns Hopkins Clinical Nurse Externships and Jobs
Johns Hopkins Clinical Nurse Externships are offered to nursing students who have completed at least one clinical practicum in an acute-care hospital. The externship includes pay and an opportunity to gain more hands-on experience in performing patient care duties.

Applicants must be willing to work at least one shift a week during the school semester. To be eligible to apply, nursing students must have completed their nursing school course work as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing and obtain their CNA certification two weeks prior to the start of the externship.

The externship begins with four days of orientation. Externs then work full-time from June to August with some weekends required. Students may choose an area that interests them, such as oncology, OB/GYN, pediatrics, surgery, emergency room, rehabilitation and others.

Johns Hopkins Hospital has been ranked #1 in the nation for 21 consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report's annual rankings of U.S. hospitals. The hospital is located in Baltimore, Maryland, and is close to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York.

The location is usually in MARYLAND.
