Foreign Medical Graduate U.S. Externships
The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.
Externships are a minimum of 12 weeks long. At the end of the externship period, students will receive a professional letter of recommendation for their residency.
FMG offers a variety of externship placements throughout the United States at various medical facilities. Each placement will fit the career specialty of medical students. The company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Atlanta. The purpose of the program is to help increase successful residency placements for foreign medical students.
