Fairfield Equine Externships
Interested students must be senior veterinary students in their clinical year of study at veterinary school. The externship lasts 2-4 weeks and is generally offered during the months of April through November.
Externships give students hands-on experience in diagnostic and treatment of horses. Experience includes internal medicine and treatment of horses for emergencies. In addition, externs will participate in outpatient appointments, ambulatory calls, and surgery. Externs may be required to work weeknights and weekends when necessary.
Fairfield Equine was founded in 1989 and provides veterinary health care for sport horses. The facility helps warmblood horses, thoroughbreds, quarter horses and other breeds of horses throughout Connecticut and New York City. They are located in Newtown, Connecticut.
The location is usually in CONNECTICUT.
