The Nurse Externship Program is an 8-week summer opportunity for senior BSN students with medical-surgical clinical experience. This program, based in Medical Oncology & Surgical Oncology, offers hands-on nursing practice under registered nurse supervision, along with didactic educational sessions and a patient education project. Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of one med/surgical clinical rotation, and BLS certification. The externship is unpaid. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others.
