Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs, focusing on hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses) to hone skills such as patient care, triaging, and laboratory procedures. Flexibility is emphasized, allowing students to choose the duration and location of their externship to meet school requirements, with mentorship provided throughout. Rabies vaccination is required, unless school policy permits handling unvaccinated animals.
