Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing students seeking hands-on emergency medicine experience. Students will work alongside credentialed emergency veterinary technicians, focusing on skills like triaging cases, obtaining patient vitals, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship from experienced veterinary nurses. Rabies vaccination is required, unless exempted by the school's policy, and the externship must begin within six months of application.
