Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA-accredited veterinary technology/nursing students seeking hands-on emergency medicine experience. The program provides opportunities for students to work alongside experienced emergency veterinary technicians (Veterinary Nurses), focusing on skills like triaging cases, obtaining patient vitals, and caring for hospitalized animals. Flexibility in externship length and location is offered, with mentorship provided, but applicants must be vaccinated for rabies or adhere to their school's rabies mitigation policy.
