Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Externs work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses), focusing on honing emergency skills such as patient care, triaging cases, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided to meet school requirements, with mentorship from experienced professionals. Rabies vaccination is required, unless the school's policy allows for handling unvaccinated animals.
