Aiken Regional Medical Centers offers a Student Nurse Externship Program for graduating seniors in their final semester of nursing school. This program provides valuable nursing skills and knowledge, with externs committing to work at ARMC for two years post-graduation. Universal Health Services, the parent company, emphasizes equal employment opportunities and a diverse, inclusive workplace. Candidates must be in their final semester of Nursing School with Aiken Technical College or the University of South Carolina Aiken.

The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. This is an opportunity for dental students to get hands-on experience under the direct supervision of highly-qualified dentists and hygienists. Candidates should be proficient in coronal polishing and sealant placement; patient counseling, including postoperative care and general oral health; understanding of evidence based dentistry; and have excellent communication skills.

Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others. Following a six-month externship, consultants return to Bain with increased skills as a consultant and enhanced knowledge of other industries.

Winter externships are offered during January and February. Externships can last from one day to one week. Eligible students will find externships available in numerous career fields and geographic locations around the world. The externships do no include pay or college credit. Students will be responsible for all expenses, including travel and housing.

Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) Externships offer veterinary students an opportunity to work in a veterinary environment for the study of birds, mammals and reptiles. The clinical externships are available at veterinary facilities across the country. Students accepted into the clinical externship program will have opportunities to learn about the care of many types of wild animals, including bald eagles, raptors, and other exotic wildlife and zoo animals.
