Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, focusing on skills like patient care, triage, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Students choose the length and location of their externship, with mentorship from credentialed veterinary technicians. Rabies vaccination is required, unless the school's policy allows handling unvaccinated animals.
