Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. Students gain hands-on emergency medicine experience alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses), focusing on vital skills like patient care, laboratory processing, and triaging in a customer-centric environment. Flexibility in externship length and location, with rabies vaccination required unless school policy permits handling unvaccinated animals. Applicants must be actively enrolled and within 6 months of starting their externship.
