Temporary full-time Nursing Extern Program for RN students with Choctaw Nation from 6/3 - 8/2, paying $15/hr. Tasks include learning opportunities, performing nursing skills under RN supervision, maintaining a safe environment, and demonstrating organizational effectiveness. Requirements: CPR certification, CNA certification (preferred), nursing school clinical experience, and medical terminology knowledge. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. Training external to the classroom is available through the unpaid externship program that allows students to work in various work environments. Students accepted into the externship program may choose to work for the federal government, on the Hill, in judicial chambers, or in local or national non-profit agencies.
