Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technician/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine alongside credentialed veterinary technicians. The program focuses on honing emergency skills, including patient care, laboratory processing, and triaging cases in a fast-paced environment. Students can choose the length and location of their externship, with mentorship provided, and must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited program, vaccinated for rabies, and starting within six months of application.
