Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. Students gain hands-on experience in emergency medicine, working alongside credentialed veterinary technicians. The program focuses on honing emergency skills, including patient care and triaging cases, with flexibility in externship length and location. Rabies vaccination is required, unless school policy allows handling unvaccinated animals.
