The Tuxedo Club Culinary Externship Program offers an exciting hands-on work experience near Metropolitan New York City for culinary students. The externship includes a stipend, room-and-board and meals. The 18-week program runs from April through October and provides culinary students with an exceptional training experience at one of the most prestigious private clubs in the world. Externs will be taught by an Executive Chef and work in state-of-the-art kitchens preparing hot and cold foods, appetizers, desserts, and learning how to cook for banquets and catering events.

Columbus Culinary Institute Externships are offered to culinary students who are enrolled in the Columbus Culinary Institute 18-month culinary arts associate degree program. The externship gives them hands-on experience in kitchen day-to-day operations. Whether students are pursuing careers in catering, hospitality, food service companies or preparing to be chefs in fine restaurants, the externship will give them an opportunity to put their skills to work and explore career options. They will also make important contacts that could lead them to their dream job.

American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Externship Opportunities

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externship Opportunities are available to dental students to help prepare them for careers as dental surgeons. Students must be currently attending accredited dental schools in the U.S. Most externships require that students be in their junior or senior year of dental school in order to apply. Externships are 1-4 weeks in length. Externs will be able to assist oral and maxillofacial residents with surgery and other procedures as well as attend conferences, seminars and other training opportunities.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Externships

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Externships are for nursing students currently enrolled in a BSN program. Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge. Positions are offered as a Nursing Attendant, Nursing Companion or Summer Nurse Externship. All are part-time nursing positions for nursing students.

Jefferson University Hospital Nursing Externships

Nursing Externships offer nursing students a paid work opportunity to learn from professional nursing staff. Externships are offered throughout the year. Students must have completed one semester of hospital medical/surgical clinical experience. Externships are temporary, part-time positions. Externs work every other weekend during the school year that includes two eight-hour shifts. During the summer, externs work two eight-hour shifts during the day, evening, or night.

Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Student Nurse Externships

Student Nurse Externships help nursing students get a jump start on their career. Students interested in a career in pediatric nursing are encouraged to apply. The externship offers a paid opportunity for nursing students to learn more about their career while still in college. Externs will be guided and mentored by a nurse preceptor. Externs may choose from a variety of pediatric specialties such as medical and surgical nursing, intensive care nursing, emergency room nursing, hematology/oncology, rehabilitation, transitional care and short-term procedures.

Indian Health Service Externship

Indian Health Service Externship offers a professional work experience for dental students. The externship includes excellent pay and benefits. Externs will work in the Indian Health Service (IHS) Division of Oral Health (DOH), or at a specific IHS or Tribal site. State-of-the-art facilities offer dental students an opportunity to work with real patients and also pursue career opportunities in the field of dentistry.

Jacobi Medical Center Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externships

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externships are offered to current medical students and take place at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, New York. Eligible students must be attending accredited dental or medical schools in the United States or Canada. Students with prior clinical experience will receive hands-on work, including working directly with patients and serving as dental assistants. Students without experience may observe. Both provide a unique learning experience for students.
