Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan Student Observers and Externs program is open to students enrolled in an accredited school with a signed medical major. It is a summer externship of job shadowing opportunity for students to get hands-on experience in the medical field. Applicants must be at least a sophomore or in their final stages of completion/graduating. Pocono Health System offers an Externship for nursing students who have completed a fundamentals course and one clinical rotation in a nursing program. The summer externship is in the emergency room. The nurse externship is 10 week, full-time position. Nurse externs will rotate off shift and weekends. Candidates must have a high school diploma and document ongoing attendance at a school of nursing (RN program). A GPA of 3.0 or above is required.

Centura Health Denver CO Student Nurse Extern Jobs are available to nursing students who have had continuous enrollment in an accredited nursing program; applicants enrolled in a bachelor’s in nursing program are strongly preferred. Candidates must have successfully completed sufficient clinical nursing courses to have obtained competency in performing basic health care tasks. Previous patient care experience is preferred.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital Dentistry Observership is open to students enrolled in a dental school program, and resident or fellow in an oral medicine program or residency with heavy focus on oral medicine. The purpose of the program is to provide educational experiences in a closely supervised, safe environment. The observership is 1-2 weeks in length.

It is open to students whose career plans are to provide basic medical support to lab techs, nurse practitioners, and doctors. This externship will remain open until it is filled. The amount of time externs must devote to the position is based on education program requirements. Memphis Choices also has a paid opening for a Full time Medical Assistant. Work will include working with medical and administrative personnel, reviewing charts, drawing blood, giving injections, prepping exam rooms, assisting in office procedures, and interacting with patients.
