Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technology/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students collaborate with credentialed veterinary technicians, focusing on skills like patient care, triage, and laboratory procedures. Flexibility in location and duration, along with mentorship, ensures a valuable learning experience for students enrolled in AVMA-accredited programs. Rabies vaccination is required, unless school policies permit handling unvaccinated animals.
